Features Overview

SimplePerm has four main tools for working with profiles and permission sets, all accessible from the SimplePerm Lightning App.

Migration Wizard​

The Migration Wizard converts profiles to permission sets in seven guided steps. You select profiles (up to 5 at a time), choose which of the 13 supported permission types to include, preview what will be created, handle any naming conflicts, and deploy. After deployment, you can optionally assign the new permission sets to users who currently have the source profile.

Coverage includes object and field permissions, system permissions, Apex class access, Visualforce pages, custom permissions, record type visibilities, and more. You always get a full preview before anything is deployed.

Permission Viewer​

The Permission Viewer lets you browse all profiles in your org, drill into any one to see its full permission breakdown, and compare a profile against a permission set side by side. After a migration, you can verify that the new permission set matches the source profile across all permission types.

Any profile's permissions can be exported to CSV for offline review, auditing, or sharing.

Migration History​

Every migration run is tracked and logged. The History tab shows all past migrations with status badges -- green for Success, yellow for Partial Success, red for Failed. Expand any record to see detailed logs for each pipeline step: profile retrieval, permission parsing, permission set building, deployment, verification, and user assignment.

Summary stats at the top show your total migration count, success rate, and recent activity.

Home Dashboard​

The Home tab is where you land when you open SimplePerm. It has quick-action buttons to start a new migration or open the Permission Viewer, plus a summary of your migration activity -- total runs, success rate, and last migration date.

SimplePerm_Admin Permission Set​

Access to SimplePerm is controlled through the SimplePerm_Admin permission set. Admins need it assigned to their user to access the app, tabs, and underlying custom objects.

To assign it: go to Setup > Permission Sets > SimplePerm_Admin > Manage Assignments and add the relevant users.
