Browse Profiles
The Permission Viewer is a read-only tool for inspecting your org's profiles and their permissions. Use it to audit access, troubleshoot permission issues, or verify that a migration produced the right results.
Getting There
Open the App Launcher, find SimplePerm, and click the View Profiles tab. You'll land on the profile browse list.
What You'll See
The browse view shows a table of every profile in your org with three columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Profile Name | The name of the profile, displayed as a clickable link |
| Type | Either "Standard" or "Custom" |
| License | The user license associated with the profile (e.g., Salesforce, Salesforce Platform) |
Profiles are sorted alphabetically by name.
Searching
Use the search bar at the top of the table to filter profiles by name. Typing "market" narrows the list to profiles like "Marketing User." Results update as you type.
In orgs with dozens of profiles, the search bar saves a lot of scrolling.
Opening a Profile
Click any profile name in the table to open its detail view -- a full breakdown of every permission on that profile, organized by type.
Next Steps
Click a profile name to see its full permission detail.
