Run Your First Migration
A quick end-to-end migration so you can see how SimplePerm works. About two minutes.
Open SimplePerm
Click the App Launcher (nine-dot grid icon, top-left) and search for SimplePerm. Open the app.
The Home tab shows an overview of your migration activity.
Start the Wizard
Click Start Migration. The migration wizard opens as a modal dialog.
Pick a Profile
You'll see a searchable list of all profiles in your org. Pick one -- Standard User is a safe first choice since every org has it.
Your selection appears as a pill below the search bar. Click Next.
Review Permission Types
The wizard shows 13 permission type cards, all selected by default. For your first run, leave everything checked to get a complete migration.
Click Next.
Preview What Will Be Created
SimplePerm shows a dry-run preview of every permission that will land on the new permission set. Browse the sections to see what's included, then click Next.
If a permission set with the same name already exists, you'll see a conflict resolution step. Otherwise the wizard moves on.
Run the Migration
A summary screen shows what's about to happen. Click Run Migration and watch the progress stages: retrieving metadata, parsing permissions, building the permission set, deploying, verifying.
Usually takes 10 to 30 seconds.
Check the Results
The results summary shows whether the migration succeeded. A green indicator means everything landed correctly.
You can assign the new permission set to users who currently have that profile right from here, or close the wizard and come back later.
This quick start covers the basics. For detailed instructions on every wizard feature -- conflict handling, partial results, user assignment -- see the Migration Guide.
What Just Happened?
SimplePerm read the permissions from your selected profile, built a matching permission set, and deployed it through the Metadata API. The new permission set contains all the same object permissions, field permissions, system permissions, tab settings, and access types as the original profile.
Check the History tab to review the details anytime.
